Thessaly's test is used to assess for a meniscal tear in the knee.

Performing the Test

  1. With patient standing, knee flexed to 20°, have them rotate their femur on tibia internally and externally 3 times
  2. Positive: joint line pain, locking, or catching
  3. Sensitivity: ≥89%; specificity: ≥96%
