Performing the Test

  1. Arm internally rotated behind back, patient asked to lift forearm off their back
  2. Subscapularis strength is evaluated against the examiner's resistance
  3. Positive: inability to lift off back, weakness
  4. Sensitivity: 62%; specificity: 100%
