Assess for impingement of a cervical root and subsequent radicular pain. .

Performing the Test

  1. In sitting, have patient flex head to ipsilateral side of their referred symptoms
  2. If no symptoms, examiner can apply combined compression and side flexion
  3. Positive test: reproduces radicular pain
  4. LR+ = 4.3; LR- = 0.75.
