Assesses for a torn posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).

Performing the Test

  1. Patient supine, hip flexed to 45°, knee flexed to 90°, look for posterior displacement of tibia at joint line, compare knees
  2. Positive: abnormal posterior displacement of tibia
  3. Note: can cause false positive anterior drawer test
  4. Sensitivity: 90%, Specificity: 99%
  5. LR+ = 90, LR- = 0.10
