Assesses for carpal tunnel syndrome

Performing the Test

  1. Ask patient to flex wrists and put backs of hands together with fingers pointing to the floor (upside down prayer) and maintain this position for 60 seconds
  2. Positive test: reproduction of symptoms in median nerve distribution
  3. Sensitivity: 75%, Specificity: 47%
  4. LR+ = 1.4, LR- = 0.5
